Sycamore and Ash Coffee Table

Sometimes when we season our urban timber it doesn’t do quite what you want. In the case of this piece of spalted Sycamore, it split straight down the middle. Sometimes though, these ‘failures’ are opportunities. We went ahead and flattened the timber and joined the two halves the opposite way around to make this incredibly unusual table top. We have even added some bling in the form of gold detailing in some of the cracks and crevices. The top is then paired with some simple legs made from reclaimed ash to make an absolutely unique statement piece. The whole thing is then finished with hard wax to make it water, beer and cola resistant. Practical and beautiful.

This table is 770mm wide x 470mm deep and 325mm high. The measurements are a bit approximate due to the unique shape of the table top.
